Garden grays.

For those who may not already know - I'm in Singapore yet again! Yep, as you and I may have figured out, that's surely the ideal destination for my family. Things have been slow and easy, ever since I touched down on Sunday night. We reunited with my brother and dad, whom have made the stay so far much more comfortable. This is about the third time I've been back since we moved back to Australia, and it's safe to say I'm able to settle in easily here too. You could say that it's practically my second home. (You could also say I'm currently avoiding the duly priority of school, and grabbing the chance to unwind instead of slaving away revising.)
The main motive of the day was to seize a free ice cream cone. (Obviously paying tribute to carpe diem; Community taught me well.) I found out that 8th April is international Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day 2014, so I knew I just had to take advantage of the event. I traipsed to one of the participating locations with my brother, who begrudgingly tagged along. Window shopping was inevitable, as always, much to the boredom of my brother. (Poor him.) When I was done, we knew it was time for ice cream. I practised patience for a good half hour in the queue, shrouded in the intolerable humidity. By the end of it, we were both happy to receive our treat.
Well and satisfied, we made our way to the top the top garden deck overlooking the view. For a while, the sky was overcast with the sun concealed. Its dim rays peeked through at intervals of the afternoon. We chilled out for the next hour or two, coupled by my brother's new (and very impressive) bluetooth speaker.
It was a momentary lapse of carefree relaxation, that I was thankful to share with a loved one. (I think it's also key to practice gratitude, whenever and wherever you are.) Despite not seeing him for a few months, our bond of kinship hasn't changed. Now, I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.
