Meet in the middle.
Without the fall of light, there would be no beautiful sunsets, nor the visible passing of time to praise.
Sunday to Sunday.
Rachel's famous word spills #4: orange light on the horizon, bare feet, coffee stains, constant good tunes, welcome scratches, lazy glory, the smell of musk, caffeine and crashing, droned voices, a borrowed flannel, chasing the moon, specks of sand everywhere, the sun gradually tucking itself in, gradient hues coming to play, a midnight dance, another trance, three in a bed, a bite or two, a singular arch linear to the sand, the foamy shore overlapping our toes.
It's a cardinal period; summer is being put on hold. I know I'll survive. I'll just need to live in the meantime. I miss everyone and most of all, I miss getting lost in the moment. // A week can encompass so many familiar feelings and new beginnings, that I'm past the point of just wishing. What I've wanted for so long awaits me. It's here. It's clear as day. (The perception in my mind? Not so much.)
Whenever I'm whisked away I wish to withdraw, and wait till the desirable rolls round. I need to take care of myself. I need to be more selfless. // The last weekend was gorgeous, leaving me wanting even more. These days I'm drawn back to another world; a world where my priorities scramble for their own sake, where suddenly everything else matters. Where I either bury my thoughts or mull over them endlessly. // But here's a toast. I'm thankful, you have no idea. For every dose of negativity I brew myself, comes another crucial parade. Cheers to the golden people in my life, to the family and those not of blood, the understanding words and silent blessings, to the tearful resolution in our strife. The bittersweet, made better.

Keep your eyes closed, we can live in a reverie.
Dreaming. It's been one thing, for sure, that has always fascinated me. I've been prone to recurring, or bizarre dreams for the past few weeks. In all honesty, I don't mind them. I happen to fancy a truly awe-inspiring dream every now and again. They're food for thought, that I try to not to devour, but digest restfully. I often scrutinize my dreams and conclude that it's all a make-believe reality. The subconscious realm of pure slumber intertwined with a pinch of fantasy. The tender promise of a simultaneous union. They are all worth the hours of tossing in bed. Let's not forget the ever-present twisted elements that are part of the package, or the deceivingly sweet enclave that often makes us question how and why.
What about you? What do your dreams tell you?

THE WOODS // a warm guest playlist.
Two country-loving friends of mine, Reuben and Katie, kindly agreed to each compile a rural inspired playlist. You may have seen them around on this little space of mine. Hereon are their recommendations, some of which I've taken to my own liking.
Of the lot, I most enjoy The Woods by Hollow Coves. // I'm in an alternative place now. Perhaps not where I'd quite like to be, but I know there are perfectly sound reasons for my participation. Reasons that I may have been trying so desperately to suppress, that I now know I need to live with. In this temporary haze, sentimental feelings and fears have come to revisit. I've drunk copious amounts of honey lemon solutions, squeezed in plans, witnessed herbal therapy and lived in the aftermath of countless fires. Smoke, haze, ashes. // Of all things, I miss the woods. My short stay at camp has me yearning for its escape. I miss the crisp air and damp shrubbery, amongst all forest enclosures. Confined, but so boundless at the same time. The magnitude of unabraded nature encompassed all around me, making me feel small. The supermoon bright enough to tinge the skies midnight blue. That's what I need to be in touch with - the expansion of my horizons alongside tangible wonders.
ALSO, there is something really important to me, if you'll allow it. So. Animal rights + classical conditioning. From young I've always been a meat-eater. I'd never questioned the notion of eating animals much like any other. Though, recently it has come to my attention that it's not a lifestyle I choose to pursue. The luxury and satisfaction of animals as food has become less appealing to me, so much so that I am willing to give it up. (Coming from a girl who enjoys her lamb chops - but in retrospect, also being in awe at the adorable lambs at the petting zoo.) As much as I am human and focus very much on my kind, I think it is essential not to detach ourselves from other sentient beings. Veganism is something I would like to take on. As a first step, I've been attempting vegetarianism for the past 3 weeks and have managed to stay clean off meat from land animals. So deem me pescatarian for now, if you will. Many a time, such a topic has come up in conversation over a meal and I can't help but feel that awareness is necessary. My choice stems from awareness, which of course brought discomfort, but I knew that living in contradiction would be against my ideals. I feel as if it's essential to know where what you're putting into your body comes from. I would love to go on and on about this but I don't want to inflict any sense of negativity/guilt upon anyone. If you're curious, I suggest you take to finding out for yourself. I would be more than willing to enlighten, so do ask away. If you're interested, I do urge you to spend some time having at these links.

Petals.
You've been waiting. Waiting for hours on end. Your physicality has slipped away from you. Your entity relies on the encircling world. The world is blurry without a trace. It could be in front of you one moment, foreign the next.
You lie, in a comatose state. You're nothing more than a headcase, soon to be a rested one. You would tell them: How could one be strong, if they hadn't yet experienced weak? You were weak and you accepted it. It didn't make you any less. See, now this is what they fail to grasp. You didn't mind the synthesis, of soaking up the foliage. Feeling over form, as common Romantics would resound. The act made you feel small, that you belonged. In fact, it wasn't an act at all. You were right where you'd always dreamt of.
Petals have shrivelled in your palm. All your colour is drained as the sun hides away. 'It's time to go', they whispered.
Every time I get stronger, while I'm waiting here for you / let the feeling take over, you've got nothing left to lose / tell me how you feel / why does it feel so, so real? when did it become so real? / Every colour, mixed together will make another reality

Did I let you know?
Daniela's back! You may have recognised her from a post in the past. In any case, our last catchup was from when you last saw her on the blog - since she's moved to Melbourne! It was unexpected news for sure, and I surely hadn't predicted her to have moved so soon. It's been a fair few months since she's settled nicely over there, and I couldn't be more glad to have her visit these holidays. (Note: Most of my closest, like-minded friends either go to other schools or live interstate/overseas!)
Our grand plans // bookshop hopping + shared café lunches + an hour of ice-skating (fake it till you make it!) + gelato by the seaside + more exploring + fireside festivities + prolonged bus rides + failed selfies + the tenacious quest for sushi
