I am exhausted.
There is no doubt in the world that I am, indeed, exhausted. This time, I mean physically. Staying up till 3am was not a very wise idea, but I believe it was worth it. My body clock's wishes of adjusting itself looks bleak, but I'll throw caution to the wind. It's technically still the holidays woooo.
This morning I took another trip to Reneta's place for our project in progress. She actually has a such a lovely house, with an equally welcoming atmosphere. Her mother is unbelievably generous as well. I adore her cooking. All these factors contribute to a pleasant working environment. Though one thing's for sure, we're not future architects.
Thanks to Reneta, I've finally got ahold of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Last night I made it to half of the book. Due to the hype of it all, and my personal viewing of the movie itself, I'm expecting to be crying once I finish the last page. So far I've had pretty neutral thoughts about it, except for when I find myself lost in the world of words.
I was also discussing with a friend the other day about the difference between books and movies. Books allow us to use the more magical side of imagination. It's selfish in a way that is appealing to us. Movies however, should only ever be watched after reading the book. (Oops I broke that rule.) Action movies are an exception though, in my opinion. What do you think, guys? x

Yeah, totally read the book first! :) I think it's hard to go back and read a book after seeing the movie because then you picture the actors instead of the characters, if that makes sense. I have to read Perks, too! I got it for Christmas but never finished it.
ReplyDeleteYep, I know exactly what you're saying. Let's finish the book together!
DeleteI almost always read the book first, I just feel like I'm cheating if I see the movie first. But I agree action movies based on comic books like Superman/Batman I usually just see the movie since they're so different from the original.
ReplyDeleteMm, that's why I feel so much guilt right now. Did you watch Iron Man 3? That did it for me, I now love action movies. x
DeleteI've come to the conclusion that watching the movie before reading the book is better, for me at least. When I read a book and then see a movie the majority of the times I find myself to be disappointed with how different it is, and how it lacks this and that; it's so intriguing to find out the inner thoughts of the characters and all of those oh so little but fundamental details that mostly get cut out from the movies. :) xx
ReplyDeleteI've actually never ever thought of it that way. I get that same feeling of disappointment, though I really never thought of it that way. I'll keep that in mind, the next time I debate about whether to read the book or watch the movie. Thanks for putting that into perspective :)
