First of all, I managed to finally get my hands on Atlas Genius' album! When It Was Now is their debut album, and their only one if I'm not wrong. Unlike most albums, I happen to favour all the songs in the tracklist. It's a rare case with music that I listen to, and I knew I made the right decision this time. A few of my favourite songs to name are Trojans, Centred On You, Don't Make A Scene, All These Girls and Symptoms. I'm currently addicted to Through The Glass. As you can tell, I basically like every song from the album.
On a separate note, I have been violently ill over the past few days. (You might know this if you follow me on Instagram.) It's safe to say I've lost my senses - quite literally, my voice stubbornly refuses to come back, my appetite has been lost and my sense of hearing and smell have faltered. My sore throat, nausea, headaches and nasal congestion still persist. Thankfully the chills and fluctuation of body temperature have stopped. To accommodate these symptoms, I've tucked myself away indoors. Surprisingly I've been sleeping a lot, just like bears during their hibernation process. (An average of 5 naps per day, who's complaining?) My mum's been nursing me back to health and I honestly feel that I am nothing without her. Thank you Mum.
A round-up of things that I've learnt, as follows . . .
Don't: have too much screen-time, it'll make you feel worse. (Unless you want to throw up, then please, I advise against it.) Tiring yourself out or stress over school/work - nuh-uh, being in your sick form does not help the situation. I was close to taking a math test on Wednesday but decided against it, seeing as I was physically and mentally unwell. That also accounts for my four day-long absence from school.
Do: use the time to relax - rarely do you get to be a zombie. Take the opportunity to catch up with friends from different timezones. Invest your time in creative outlets that don't require much concentration. Go out, appreciate the greenery and sweet fresh air. Also, some home remedies actually work and are worth a shot. I literally Googled that, because I was desperate. Following a nutritious diet is a novel idea as well. (I've been living on honey and lemon tea, it's extremely soothing.)
That's all for now, fingers crossed I get better in time for transition camp next week. Ciao!
