'Always adrift, there are trips to make; the night won't break, if the day won't break.' - Bombay Bicycle Club
Today was the second and final day of transition camp.
It was much more fun compared to yesterday, partly due to the fact that I embraced the gorgeous weather. The sunrays broke through by the afternoon, something I'm grateful for. The morning was idle, as Julia, Yuxian and I wandered towards the frail green bleachers. We all planned on simultaneously wearing our Dr. Martens for the day, hence the photo above. Along with the two, I hung out with a few others - namely Mariel, you rock - and we had a pretty good time. Lunch break went by similarly, only with more friends, piggybacks, attempted human pyramids, and other games.
Throughout our peer leader/group sessions, I was constantly thanking my lucky stars for having my drama teacher. Rarely are teachers encouraging, jovial and wise all at once. On the topic of teachers, however, I was watching Kingsley's latest video and I have to say, that boy has my respect. He does slap some sense into viewers, whilst also being hilarious.
That's all for now, I hope your week has been well so far. Ciao!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see more of them in more posts to come! x
DeleteSounds like a fun day, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! I'm curious, though; what exactly is transition camp?
ReplyDeleteCool shoes, by the way. :)
Oops it seems that I've forgotten to explain that. Transition camp is part of my school program where we're preparing to be transition leaders for the new batch of high school kids coming in next year. First we have nominations, camp, some other training - then we handle the fresh-out-of-primary-school kids and help them settle down. It's a regular program, I'm pretty sure. Hope that cleared things up!
DeleteNo worries! Thanks for clearing things up. :) That sounds like a really cool idea, and I like that the transition camp puts a bit of an emphasis on helping kids adjust to high school. Not that I have much knowledge of the public school system, being homeschooled, but as far as I know there's not much like this in the American school system and it's kind of a shame, really!
DeleteSounds like you are having a great few days! I have never heard of a transition camp but i think its an excellent idea for schools to do. Although, no matter what camp it is, they are ones to never be forgotten when your school years are over
ReplyDeleteIt surely has been, and I'm surprised, have you not had that when you were in high school?
DeleteAs for the last statement, I wholeheartedly agree. I do wish we had more camps though :)
Nope, i never had a transition camp. The type of camps we had were just yearly class ones like phillip island, canberra, anglesea, kangaroobie and tasmania.
DeleteHmm, a far better cry than transition. We don't have exciting events in my school, nor any annual camps. :(
DeleteI CANT AGREE MORE WITH KINGSLEY JDSLAKDJSALKDJSA I feel so sorry for teachers :(
ReplyDeleteExactly, I hope I don't ever become a teacher haha!
DeleteIt's nice that you enjoyed ! I love all these docs, want them all, I have the black and I want the red, and I wish I could have the flower print but the short version, I saw it on Asos and I felt in love
ReplyDeleteNice blog hun
Bisous from FRANCE
I see, thanks for dropping by Grazziella! x
DeleteKingsley's voice when he goes high is funny!
ReplyDeleteI do feel for teachers. In my school, most teachers don't care if students don't care.
Hahahah he's now one of my favourite Youtubers, he has funny but relatable rants.
DeleteOh that is a bit of a shame. But then again, I suppose what we need is mutual respect.
Chanced upon your blog and enjoy reading it! the camp sounds really fun! ^v^
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily x
